  Panoramas
London, July 2006

NOTE: The QTVR files will only show a rough greyscale preview image at first - the full color image will not be visible until the file has completely loaded. Some of the "LARGE" QTVR files are several MB in size and can take some time to download depending on the speed of your internet connection.

Click and drag in these pans to move around. Use the + and - options to zoom in and out.

Street Scene, Near Hyde Park
Took this pan without using a tripod but it worked pretty well. I like all the detail in the school and shops across the street. Note my "cameo" reflected in the glass door of the YMCA.

British Museum, London
I took this 360 degree pan without a tripod. I expected paralax problems as I turned to shoot the fence which was just a few feet from me but it actually lined up well. Note the closeup details in the fence including the lion's heads. My son, Joshua, is in this pan.

Thames River, near Tower Bridge, London
We took a Thames River boat tour. Here we had docked near the Tower of London to pick up more passengers. There is some distortion due to movement plus a guy came over and stood near me as I finished the pan and half of his head appears here. Note the historic HMS Belfast moored in the river.

Greenwich Observatory
East meets West. Here we stand beside the Prime Meridian. You can see people lined up to have their photo taken exactly on 0 degreess longitude. My son and I also appear reflected in a window in this 360 degree pan.

Greenwich Pier
We are on a boat departing from Greenwich. The old sailing ship in drydock is the Cutty Sark. This pan takes in approx 120 degrees.

Cutty Sark, Greenwich England
This is the famous "Cutty Sark" on permanent display in dry dock. From this point we walked up to the Greenwich Observatory.

London Skyline from Westminster
We visited Westminster Cathedral and took the elevator up to an observation floor near the top of the tower. The observation floor had a window facing out on each side of the square tower so I took a series of pictures - four from each window - and stitched all 16 together to produce one complete 360 pan.
