- Born: 30 Nov 1843, Stewart Co., GA
- Marriage: Georgia Ann Aletha Dixon on 1 Nov 1866 in Preston, Webster Co., GA
- Died: 1887, Geneva, Orange/Seminole Co., FL at age 44
General Notes:
James served in Co F, 46th Inf. Georgia Volunteer Regiment CSA during the Civil War. He was a Corporal and was wounded near Dalton, GA in 1864 and convalesced at Lt. Robert Marshall Dixon’s home. (his future Father-in-law). He married Georgia Ann Aletha Dixon November 01, 1866.
They moved to Enterprise, Volusia County, Florida in 1869. Georgia’s mother died February 14, 1869 and it is possible that they moved after her death.
After a short stay in Enterprise they moved to Lake Helen (Nettie Ethel’s birthplace), and then to Lake Ashby where Jasper James was born. From Lake Ashby they moved to the May Town and Osteen area. After a few years they moved to Osceola/Cooks Ferry.
Jasper was a cattleman and farmer. He died there November 10, 1887 and is buried in the Geneva Cemetery with his family.
