Archibald and Mary buried, Carter-Dixon Cemetery, Centerpoint Road, Webster County, GA. On Archibald’s grave, “Our Father”, soldier in the Indian War, and a Mason.
Archibald’s will is on file in the Webster County Court House. Jasper is named as the executor of his will. (Webster County was created from Stewart County in 1853 and has its first census in 1860.)
Born in North Carolina, he moved at an early age with his parents to Randolph County, GA, and then to Houston County around 1820. Around 1830 the family moved to Stewart County and settled near Richland. The 1860 census shows Archibald living with his family in Webster County. It listed his occupation as farmer.
In addition to Archibald and Mary’s graves in the Carter-Dixon Cemetery, other family members include, Duncan Nicholson, Mary Ella Nicholson, Lt. Robert Marshall Dixon, Eliza Clements Dixon, Thomas Shadrack Dixon, and Mary Nicholson.
